Creating a place to help veterans in physical, psychological, and social rehabilitation on the territory of an old water pumping station "Khotin" on the banks of the Limnitsa River in the town of Kalush.
The idea of creating the center belongs to Oleg Pereguda, the commander of the 80th airborne assault brigade, awarded with the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd degree.
Oleg joined the ATO defense forces in 2014 and in 2016 he experienced a return from the front to civilian life. Going through this difficult period, Oleg came up with the idea of creating a place where military personnel could receive help and support.
The main works on the project began in 2021. But on the very first day of the full-scale invasion Oleg returned to the front. In June 2022, he was killed in Donetsk.
Today, his idea is being continued by his wife Vasilina Pereguda, brothers-in-arms, and the project team.
The mission of the center is to help Ukrainian military personnel return to their normal lives and improve their quality of life after participating in combat operations.
It is a place for helping veterans and war participants, providing them with the physical and psychological rehabilitation, occupational therapy, and a place for veterans fellows meetings.
The future center is an abandoned building of the former "Khotin" water pumping station, with an area of 280 square meters with an adjacent territory of 2.5 hectares on the banks of the Limnitsa River.
The main building will consist of a spacious gym with mobile exercise equipment and rehabilitation equipment, a massage room, a psychologist's office, a kitchen, as well as a library and personnel room in the attic. On the territory, there will be a sports ground, greenhouses and beehives.
